Cargo Facilitation Group
The IBC’s Cargo Facilitation Group would
like to hear from Northern Territory businesses that have had business
visitors from
within the region undergo extended questions regarding their bona
fides.
These examples will be compiled and forwarded to the Australian
Chamber of Commerce and Industry to raise at a national level. Please

Other
The Small
Business and Trade in APEC is a report highlighting the contribution
of medium, small and micro enterprises to the Asia Pacific region.
The IBC aims to keep members informed about communications with
various stakeholders, including Federal and NT Government officials,
other industry associations and Chambers of Commerce, both national
and international. Here is the most recent correspondence sent

BP Tangguh LNG Plant Project
Tangguh has the potential to become one of the world's premier LNG
facilities-while sustaining Indonesia's position as the world's
largest LNG exporter. And in the process, the Tangguh Project
aspires to socially and environmentally responsible resource development.
Thus, in addition to generating substantial fiscal resources for
both the national and provincial governments, the Tangguh Project
seeks to catalyze sustainable economic growth, participatory community
development and biodiversity conservation.
DBERD has obtained an initial bid list from KJP of some 174 companies.

QANTAS
Qantas has announced a Sydney/Darwin/Mumbai (Bombay) A330 service,
offering three direct flights per week from Darwin to Mumbai,
India. A two-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft fitted with Skybed
sleeper seating will operate from January 2006. As the Mumbai
service originates in Sydney, domestic passengers can purchase
Sydney/Darwin service. The days of operation are Wednesday, Friday
and Sunday.
